Uncoated direct thermal
A value-focused choice for clean, dry, short-term indoor use. It can be more vulnerable to rubbing, moisture, oils and environmental exposure.

Top-coated direct thermal
A protective topcoat can improve resistance to moisture, light abrasion and handling. It does not make every label suitable for outdoor, chemical or long-term identification.
Adhesive is a separate decision. Permanent, removable, freezer and high-tack adhesives behave differently across cardboard, plastic, glass, metal and cold surfaces.
